Yum Brands Kicks Off Annual Anti-Hunger Campaign 10/2/08

Franchise giant Yum Brands announced this week its annual campaign for hunger in its on-going World Hunger Relief campaign. Yum Brands made the announcement at the Clinton Global Initiative this week. Singer Mariah Carey will be featured in its posters as the Ambassador, and Muhammad Ali's wife, Lonnie Ali, will do the voice-over for television ads and public service announcements. Customers who donate at YUM establishments, which include KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Long Johns Silvers and A&W Restaurants, will receive a free download of Mariah's song, "Love Story." Yum Brands will create the equivalent of nearly $50 million in hunger awareness. According to the chairman and CEO of Yum Brands, David C. Novak, 850 million people suffer from starvation and hunger every day.
